Umi Sonoda (VA: Mimori Suzuko)
A second year student in Otonokizaka High School, excels in Kendo, Archery, and Calligraphy. Main lyricist of µ’s, and leader of sub-unit lily white.
Her birthday is on March 15 and her charm point is her long hair since childhood. Her mom is a Head of Music & Arts School, and her dad is a Martial Arts Inspector, explains why she excels in the things mentioned above. She mentioned in her School Idol Diary (Chapter 7) that she has a older sister who moved out.
She became friends with Kotori and Honoka since they were young by playing a game of hide and seek.
Umi is actually a shy girl, and has a stage fright, that’s why she initially rejected Honoka when she invited her to become a school idol. She later on joined when Kotori shows how Honoka is working hard in order for her to become a school idol.
She is also uncomfortable wearing skirts, the same with Rin, but after a while she gets used to it. Umi is strict to others, especially when it comes to training, forcing Honoka and Hanayo to train longer than others due to the fact that they gained weight (which is also their fault).
Her name, Umi, meaning sea. We call her Oome just for fun though.

OPINION AHEAD!
(lazysprinkles): I’m disappointed that Umi doesn’t have her own episode, that’s why there’s hardly enough information about her background. Umi would’ve been developed more as a character. Mimorin (VA of Umi) has a beautiful voice, she and Nanjolno (VA of Eli) is my favorite seiyuus (Japanese term for voice actress/actor).
